The oedo’s
household still looks the same as it was 7 years ago. “Tadaima!”
“Oojamashimasu..” “Ah, Ojou.. Okaerinasai! WARGH! Who is this!?” Kyou-san was
speechless to see his precious Ojou brings a man, a fine young gentleman home.
“Its been a while.. Kyou-san.” Shin bow in respect. “Red.. Lion Young MASTER!?
Oh how are you? Its been so long!!!” for the second time that day, Shin was
squeeze by yet another man. “Kyou..san.. I CANT.. BREATHE!!!!”
“Ah, aren’t you that.. Shin-boy?”
Shin bow in respect to the Oedogumi’ oyabun though his body is still aches due
to being squeeze earlier. “Its been awhile, Kumichou-san. How do you do?”
Kuroda Ryuuichirou smiles warmly. “As you can see, this old man is not as
strong as before. Maybe it’s time for me to retire.” Shin looks at him up and
down. “Nah.. the way I see it, you still can kick the ass of hundreds of man
with a blink of an eye.” The old man
laughs. This boy always know what to say to make him happy. “Come in.. come
in..”
They talk all day long, catching up
with each other, exchange stories and experiences. They stop for dinner but
continue right after they finish their meal. After all, they haven’t seen each
other for 7 solid years.
“It never
crosses my mind that you, one day will become a lawyer. But then again, your
father is the chief of police. So, what are going to do next? Are you going to
be a DA? Execute all the wrong doers?” tease Kumiko. “Nope, I’m going to be a
Yakuza Lawyer.” Kumiko’s jaws drop. “What?! What are you talking about? I never
heard a first class Harvard graduate becomes a Yakuza lawyer!”
“It would be nice to have atleast
one, right?” he smiles. “Remember what I said to you before I left for Africa?
I may not able to ask you to come with me like that Shinohara-guy, but I want
to, at least be useful to you, to be able to protect you and those who are
important to you. Until I’ve figure out how I want to do that, I won’t appear
in front of you.”
“I’ve figure it out. This is the
only way I can think of to fulfil my promise to you. This is how I can always
stay by your side, to be equal to you..” Shin looks straight into her eyes and
when she tried to avert them, he grab her face gently. “Its been 7 years and
during that 7 years, I’ve tried to forget you. But it is impossible. The more I
tried the deeper my feelings become. I’m no longer the kid from before, I’m a
full fledge man now. My feelings for you are genuine, I truly love you
Kumiko..”he drew his face closer to her, trying to kiss her just like 7 years
ago. And just like before, Yankumi punch him in the stomach hard, and starts
blabbering gibberish about how she is his teacher and he shouldn’t tease her
that way before running away with a face as bright as tomato.
Shin scoff. She didn’t change at
all. Still all rough and weird. But isn’t that’s the reason why he had fallen
for her in the first place.
