Vikingdom: Blood Eclipse review

Ever since I heard about it around 2 years ago, I've been so gung-ho bout it. So, last weekend, i finally found the time to go and watch the movie.

Vikingdom is a bout a young king who died in a battle. not long after his dead, his deity-lover Freya resurrect his at the cost of their love. After being brought back to life, Eirick Bloodletter led a  life away from everyone for 10 year before Frey- Freya's brother assigns him with an impossible task- To go to the underworld, retrieve the Horn of Helheim and stop Thor- God of Thunder.

I have to say, the graphic, the stunt choreography, the cast (both Dominic and Craig fits their character well and Conan Stevens looks super scary in the movie), the music.. everything is great except for the storyline. You know, it feels like I'm watching The Scorpio King 2 all over again. these are the similarities that I can point out;

• The Hero set on the journey with their childhood friend
• They met and rescue a chinese dude along the way and the chinese dude stick with them till the end
• They went to the under world to retrieve something
• The female lead and the chinese dude fight side by side
• they were betrayed by their companion and later discovered that the betrayer didn't really betray them cuz they give the villain a fake one.
• in the end of the adventure, they set of to another journey instead of claiming the crown 

By and large, the movie may not as epic as The Malay Chronicles: Bloodline and have flaws here and there, I commend KRU for bravely took a chance on making this movie as well as improving so much since their last movie. Congratulation and job well done KRU!!
